We are pleased to announce Anna Kessel as our new Elementary School Administrative Assistant.

You likely recognize Anna, who has been an active volunteer on our campus the last few years. Her husband, Craig, also was the Board of Directors Chairperson and just recently wrapped up his tenure on the BOD.

Anna attended Northwest Christian College and South Eugene High School. She has worked previously as a receptionist at Northwest Church as a receptionist and administrative assistant and worked at World Vision as a communications assistant.

Anna replaces Kim Young and Carrie Foster.

Have you ever wondered what the building at the top of campus was as you speed down the 64th Street hill?

It’s the A Building!

What was once an elementary school hub, complete with a playground, back in the early aughts was transformed into a storage area.

The school started to open it back up slowly over the last few years with a few classes on top of the hill.

But with surging enrollment this year, we invested money to refurbish multiple classrooms and reopen them.

The A Building’s top floor is now our Bible Hub – with Religion Department Chair Matt Richey, Middle School Bible Teacher Lydia Kellar and High School Bible Teacher Mike Lundy are all located on top of the hill.

If you haven’t had a chance to visit those classrooms, you certainly will want to climb the steps (it’s a workout!) to check them out next time you are on campus.

A huge shoutout to our new maintenance and facilities director Jacob McGehee for all the hard work he did on the building the last few months.

All parents will need to sign an acknowledgement that they have received the Parent-Student Handbook and return the signature form to the office before the start of school.

For high school students, this means it must be signed before Wednesday/Thursday. For middle school and elementary students, you get an extra week!

Forms are on the final page of the Handbook document and can be printed and returned to the school at Back to School Night on the 28th at a table in the Library. There will also be a limited number of full copies of the handbook in the Library, while signature forms will also be available.

This form lives year round on the Family Resource Center page on the website.

This year’s event will feature some changes from last year.

There will be no groups, rather it will be a bit of a free-for-all. 

Families will check-in at a pair of tables in the courtyard north of the gymnasium. They will receive a passport at that time. Passports have a campus map on the back, while on the front there are spaces to receive signatures from various stations located throughout campus.

Once you receive five signatures you can bring your passport to the library to receive your child’s free t-shirt.

The event runs from 5-6:30 p.m. and is designed to be a drop-in event with no formal program.

There will be food and fun, plus tons of information, free shirts for students and more. You won’t want to miss this great night.

We are pleased to announce Lydia Kellar as our new Middle School Bible Teacher.

Lydia received her Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Minor in Biblical Studies at Oklahoma Baptist University in 2017 and her Masters of Arts in Biblical Languages from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Mass., in 2020.

She was a junior high Bible teacher last school year at Bellevue Christian School and an English Teacher in Oklahoma in the 2021-22 school year.

We are pleased to announce Stephanie Stone as our new Elementary School Aide.

Stephanie is a 2020 graduate of Tacoma Baptist/Sound Christian Academy, a 2022 graduate of Pierce College and is on track to be a 2024 graduate of Central Washington University.

She has spent the summer working at a summer camp at Cascade Christian Schools and has experience supervising young children at Christ Lutheran Church and First Baptist Church of Lakewood.
